Hoagy Carmichael

December 27, 1981 - Hoagy Carmichael died on this day at the age of 82.

He wrote some of the most recorded songs of all time, including "Stardust," "Georgia On My Mind," and "Heart And Soul."

He was born in Bloomington, Indiana and named after a circus troupe, The Hoagloads, that had stayed with his family during his mother's pregnancy.
