Sam Kinison

April 10, 1992 - Today was the day that Sam Kinison died. He was a former preacher turned comedian who rose to fame with an intense, often sacrilegious routine that was punctuated with his trademark screams.

Kinison and his wife were driving to an appearance at a sold-out concert when a drunk teenager plowed his pickup truck into their car. Kinison wasn't wearing a seatbelt and slammed his head into the windshield. Witnesses say he appeared fine immediately following the crash, but was heard to say, "I don't want to die. I don't want to die." His last words were, "But why? Okay, okay, okay."
