Nadia's Perfect 10

Nadia's Perfect 10

July 18, 1976 - This was the day that a 14-year-old Romanian gymnast named Nadia Comăneci scored the first perfect score in Olympic gymnastics history. The amazing feat came during the Montreal games where the scoreboards were not equipped to deal with a 10, so they displayed it as a 1.0.

At age 6 Nadia had been discovered by legendary coach Béla Károlyi who had spotted her doing cartwheels in a schoolyard. She would go on to become one of the most successful gymnasts of all time with 5 Olympic Gold Medals.
