The Laziest Man in the World

The Laziest Man in the World

May 27, 1790 - Today was the day the day Jeremiah Carlton died. He lived a long and incredibly uneventful life.

At the age of 19 he inherited a large fortune. He hired an army of servants and crawled into bed - where he would stay for the next 70 years.

His slothfulness became legendary. Between marathon naps, the occasional sponge bath and spoonfed meals, Carlton indulged in an endless stack of books.

He died in his sleep at the age of 89.
