Frogs Fall on Duck Farm
July 31, 1921 - A shower of small frogs rained down on a farm in Sterling, Connecticut on this day. The odd event was newsworthy and/or interesting enough to make the second page of the New York Evening World (August 1, 1921). The story mentions how the owner of a duck farm gathers up the frogs and feeds them to his ducks.
A couple of years later, Charles Fort would mention the report in his book, New Lands, where he cataloged and explored many of the unexplained phenomena he gathered during years of poring over scientific journals and other papers inside the New York Public Library.
