The Electric Girl
September 3, 1895 – Reporters flocked to a small village in France, as stories emerged about a fourteen-year-old girl who seemed to emit sparks and static shocks when touched. These were not small zaps. Some witnesses described being jolted by contact with la fille électrique.
This is a classic case for Charles Fort who included it in his 1919 compendium of curiosities, The Book of the Damned.
A young girl, fourteen years old, was described as producing electric sparks, capable of setting fire to objects, and of giving shocks to those who touched her. Matches struck in her hands; metallic objects vibrated and were repelled. The phenomena lasted several days and then ceased.
